The County of Haliburton Roads Department is accepting applications from qualified candidates interested in obtaining a permanent Truck Driver/Equipment Operator position.
The successful applicant must have the following: Valid Ontario AZ Driver’s license and a clean driving record; Experience in operating a tandem truck with a combination snow plow/sander, a loader and a tractor backhoe. Proven snow plow experience; Must be available for call into work on short notice in a timely manner and available for on call every other weekend (winter months); Excellent interpersonal skills; Ability to demonstrate good judgement and communicate effectively with staff and members of the public; Proven experience with repair and maintenance of equipment and vehicles.
The interview evaluation process may include a practical component pending your truck and equipment operating work experience with the County. The hourly rate for this unionized CUPE Local 1960 position is $27.80. This position includes participation in the OMERS defined benefit pension program and employer paid extended health benefits.
